The Sacramento Area Liver Transplant Support group was established in 1991 by a small group (12) of post liver transplant patients who had been transplanted at U. C. San Francisco Medical Center and Cal Pacific Medical Center.  The group quickly evolved to include not only post-transplant patients but pre-transplant patients as well.

The average attendance at support group meetings is 25-30 pre- and post-transplant patients and their family members or care-givers. 

The support group is funded by the annual holiday party and raffle held each December.  It is not unusual to have as many as 80 people in attendance at this popular event.

This group provides peer support and continuing education on related subjects.  This group does NOT provide financial services of any kind.
